Overview & Highlights
Tarangire National Park is famous for having one of the largest concentrations of elephants in Africa and being dotted with ancient, iconic baobab trees that dominate the landscape. During the dry season (June to October), the Tarangire River becomes the only source of water in the region, drawing thousands of animals β including wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, and elands β from the surrounding Masai steppe. Lion and leopard sightings are common near the water sources.
