About Mount Kilimanjaro

Mount Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano in northern Tanzania, rising 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. It is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain peak in the world. Scaling Kilimanjaro is a bucket-list trek that does not require technical climbing skills, making it accessible to hikers of moderate fitness. Climbers pass through five distinct ecological zones as they ascend—from tropical rainforests filled with colobus monkeys to alpine deserts and finally the arctic summit of Uhuru Peak, crowned by glacier ice fields. Trekkers can choose between various routes like the scenic Machame (Whiskey) Route, the historical Marangu (Coca-Cola) Route with its hut accommodations, or the quiet Lemosho route, enjoying spectacular sunrise views over the savanna.
